Ahhhhhhhh.... It is such a pleasure/treat/joy to spend time with Cookie. Since Paloma was sick, and a couple of Cookie's friends cancelled due to sickness as well, Cookie and I were a sleepover duo! I always look forward to spending quality time reconnecting one-on-one. Cookie is one of my favourite humans in Vancouver. She is talented in so many ways, but truly an expert when it comes to being connected. She continually strives for knowing oneself and for knowing all the systems in which we work through to evolve as we do.
Last night was so nourishing and relaxing we didn't get around to filming any footage. Through dim caramel lighting, cozied up in her cuddle puddle living room, sipping on herbal tea, we cascaded in conversation about how our roles as humans and facilitators of human connection, we strive to honour healing between gender(s) that is supportive of everyone's needs (trauma informed) for growth that stops the cycle of abuse and how that process can be empowering. Boom! Just us, enjoying the benefits of chamomile while healing the world.
Our conversation was inspired by this article about how violent sexuality can be just based on how we grow up and in what bodies we happen to grow up in. Content heads up: sex, trauma, violence.
How do you feel about your gender and how that relates to power dynamics within sexuality?
